Our college women students formed a youth club in our college campus and organizing various activities cateringto the needs of students especially women student. Mr.K.T.Tamil Mani, Head of the Department of English is the mentor for organizing youth club activities. The youth club was inaugurated in 2005.
Ms.A.Geetha, Final MCA student took initiativs for organizing youth club meetings. Youth club volunteers maintain a separate reading room in which various magazines and books are kept for reading purpose in the CVR women's Hostel. The reading room facilitates the students for preparing for competitive examinations. Ms.A.Geetha who is now working with Wipro Technologies, Bangalore is frequently meet the youth club volunteers every year. The members of Youth club meet periodically to update and sharpen their extra-academic ability.
On 1.10.2005 the youth club organized a seminar on civil services examinations. Mr.Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director, District Employment office, Trichy interacted with the students. The youth club volunteers visited the civil service study center at Trichy and interacted with the IAS toppers in Tamil Nadu.
On 09.08.2007 Ms.S.Aiswarya, Senior Reporter, from The Hindu, interacted with the youth club volunteers on women empowerment.
Dr Joseph Arul Jayaraj, Reader in English from St Joseph's College, Trichy spoke on “The Traits of Women and Men” on 24 th January 2009. The members attended a Health-series Lecture delivered by Dr.K.S.Devanathan, Consultant Urologist from Trichy on 28 th February 2009. He spoke elaborately on “Kidney Stone Diseases and How to prevent them.”
On 29.08.2009, the Youth club volunteers conducted a seminar on "Carrier Opportunities". Mr.R.Selva Kumar, Librarian delivered the lecture.
An essay writing competition was conducted on 23 March 2010 under the auspices of the Red Ribbon Club. Twenty students participated in the event and secured prizes.
