Innovation incubator(i2) and SEAT Entrepreneur's Club of Nehru Memorial College with the support of the Government of India's Entrepreneur Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad organised three days Entrepreneur Awareness Camp for its final year science graduates. Principal Dr. T. Jayaprakasam delivered the presidential address. Shri. G. Gokul, CEO of shanti Furniture was the chief guest. More than 200 students took part in the event. Dean Dr. A. Prabaharan welcomed the participants and guests.
In his address, G. Gokul said "Students must learn entrepreneurial traits" to steer clear problems in their lives. Nowadays life is highly challenging and it requires steel will. Once entrepreneurial traits are learnt it is easy for students to achieve anything in life. We started a small firm 43 years back and today despite the tough competition.
Pradeepan, a final computer science student proposed vote of thanks In the session II, Dr. A. Prabaharan, Dean and Coordinator of EAC spoke about the indian values and indian entrepreneurship. He spoke about various cultural factors impinging the growth of entrepreneurship in the country.
After lunch the participants were exposed to business opportunities and mechanisms of product selection by Elavarasi, herbal entrepreneur. She gave about various areas where students can venture in as entrepreneurs.
After the coffee break technology assistance from R & D labs and other institutions were in detail presented by Balamurugan,ED India. He dwelt in length about the value and indispensability of technology, research in development.
On the day three, Ramya of Sulabam Trust spoke about the methods with which a SSI unit can be started. After the coffee break, she spoke about the technical and commercial aspects of SSI unit. Financial aspects of SSI units were discussed after the lunch break In the last session of day three, various schemes of assistance, and support available from Government agencies, banks, financial institutions, SFCS were discussed by Ms. Ramya
