The Depatment of English conducted a one day Career Guidance Programme on 27.09.2016. The programme was started at 10.00 a.m in the seminar hall. Student representative of III B.A., English Literature welcomed the gathering. Dr.T.Jayaprakasam, the Principal presided over the function. Dr.K.T.Tamilmani,Head of the Department, Dr.Prabaharan- Dean, and Mr.Jeyaraman- Placement Officer offered felicitations. Dr.Suresh Frederick, Head, UG Department of English, Bishop Heber College, Trichy was the Guest of Honour of the morning session. His speech was highly motivating, information and interspersed with personal experience. He illustrated on various areas where students of English Literature could get job opportunities. Students and Staff were highly benefited by his speech.
The second session was started at 2.00p.m. Dr. S.Joseph Arul Jayraj, Associate Professor & Head PG & Research Department of English St. Joseph College, Trichy was the Guest of Honour. His speech focused on the practical aspects of developing a passion for carrying out any task. He enumerated the competitive examination conducted in India and how one could make use of English for achieving it. He appealed to the students to develop a sense of positive attitude and steadfastness to choose a career and grabbing it at the earlist. Finally student representative Nivethika of III BA English Literature proposed a vote of thanks.
