       The P.G department of Biotechnology was established in 2006 at Nehru Memorial College (Autonomous), Puthanampatti. Tiruchirappalli Dt. Biotechnology which has revolutionized the world of modern science for the past few decades, starting right from the cellular level which has been expanding its application to creation of a clone with the discovery of the molecular identity. Biotechnology is a multidisciplinary subject which has a wide spectrum of application in various industrial sectors which have paved way for good employment opportunities and it has revolutionized modern biology. Biotechnology has brought new hope for the remediation and conservation of environment. Technical advancement in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics has created a hope for many unresolved medical mysteries that have directly contributed to the welfare of mankind.
